El conjunto de evaluaciones WIDA ACCESS for ELL comprende evaluaciones seguras de dominio del idioma inglés a gran escala administradas a estudiantes de jardín de infantes a 12º grado que han sido identificados como aprendices de inglés (EL). Las evaluaciones se realizan anualmente en Michigan para monitorear el progreso de los estudiantes en la adquisición de inglés académico, e incluyen ACCESS para estudiantes de Kindergarten para ELL, ACCESS para ELL en línea y en papel, y ACCESS alternativo para ELL.

El WIDA Screener y Kindergarten W-APT (WIDA ACCESS Placement Test) son herramientas de evaluación de evaluación utilizadas por los educadores para medir el dominio del idioma inglés de los estudiantes que han llegado recientemente a los EE. UU. O a un distrito en particular. Puede ayudar a determinar si un niño necesita o no servicios de enseñanza del idioma inglés.

The WIDA ACCESS for ELLs suite of assessments comprises secure large-scale English language proficiency assessments administered to Kindergarten through 12th grade students who have been identified as English learners (ELs). The assessments are given annually in Michigan to monitor students’ progress in acquiring academic English, and include Kindergarten ACCESS for ELLs, ACCESS for ELLs online and paper-based, and Alternate ACCESS for ELLs.

The WIDA Screener and Kindergarten W-APT (WIDA ACCESS Placement Test) are assessment screening tools used by educators to measure the English language proficiency of students who have recently arrived in the U.S. or in a particular district. It can help to determine whether or not a child is in need of English language instructional services.

About this compilation

Our Stories of Migration: Saliendo Adelante is a collection of stories written by English Language Learners (ELL) from Ecorse Community High School. This compilation emerged from a series of bilingual workshops, which Emmanuel Orozco Castellanos (BA; minor, Translation Studies ‘22) facilitated and designed for his Translation Studies capstone project. Co-translated into English and Spanish by Emmanuel and the students themselves, these migration stories depict the hurdles and hopes of moving to the United States. On each page, students remind us of the courage it takes to start over. Their narratives are, above all, a testament to migrant resilience.
